He was sitting next to her, she asked him, what time was his tuition, there was no answer, she cleared her throat and asked again still there was no answer, people had told her, she had a loud voice but here she could not evoke a response from her 11 year old nephew. Now she raised her voice, she was confident a passing neighbor could hear her clearly but still there was no response.
No he wasn’t being stubborn or arrogant just watching ......., this time she yelled and asked the same question, her nephew seemed to recognize the direction of the sound. He looked back at her and said “What is it?” The moment she repeated her question, “2: 30 p.m.” he shouted back and was once again lost to the outside world, watching his favorite cartoon show.
Watching cartoons such as Doremon, Chhota Bheem, Mr. Bean on the channels Nick, Cartoon Network, Animax etc. has become such a common thing today. Parents and the elders, for one reason or the other, indirectly encourage children to watch TV. Children are so addicted to watching these cartoon and TV shows that one can’t help wondering if this could affect the future of these children.
